This is the first edition of What’s App!? And in these episodes I’ll be talking about Apps on your phone that you can use to have some fun and create content on social media.
Boomerang
Today we are talking about Boomerang. And even if you don’t know what boomerang is you’ve very likely seen one before. A boomerang is an app that creates a video loop that plays forwards to backwards and creates GIF like video. It was rolled out as an app by Instagram and can also be found in Instagram stories (which I’ll be diving into on the next episode of Mug Monday so stay tuned!). Boomerang is available for download on Android and iOS.
Using Boomerang
When you open the app it’ll allow you to access your front or rear facing camera. When you are ready to shoot you will hold down the center button for a few seconds until the white ring has moved around. Now remember Boomerang is about motion but it only records for about 5 seconds so it has to be quick so make sure you or your subjects are ready Some fun things to Boomerang could be pouring some celebration champagne, doing a little dance to celebrate, having your client jiggle their keys and smiling but make sure theirs at least a little motion involved. It can be big and bold or subtle and sly but it’s not a picture. Some non- real estate things are basically anything with motion, such as sport4s, dancing, catching a big facial expression. Be creative and have fun with it!
What is the point of Boomerang?
Some may ask what’s the point of it? It’s FUN! I know that may seem silly but Boomerang’s catch peoples eye! Something that seems like a normal boring motion when caught on Boomerang can look pretty cool. Experiment and see what you can come up with!
