Good Morning Everyone! Welcome to Mug Monday! I’m Emily Dugal, Digital Marketing Manager at RE/MAX Leading Edge! If you’ve seen Mug Monday welcome back and if it’s your first time I’m excited to share my myriad of mugs and tips with you! This weeks mug is my Cape Cod mug!
This Monday morning we are going to be talking about Live video versus recorded video. Many agents get anxiety when it comes to shooting video either recorded or live so I’ve broken down how to use the two and some tips on creating video content.
Seems less daunting to agents because they can go back and fix their mistakes but remember you are your harshiest critic.
Recorded videos should be on the shorter side. Video lengths are trending upward since 2015 when the most popular videos clocked in at under 90 seconds but in my opinion the sweet spot is 1 minute – 3 minutes depending on the content
I’d use recorded video to showcase a property, doing a vlog (like this one) or sharing a few quick tips that apply to something that just came up but you get questions on a lot
For awhile recorded video was the only way to go but that has changed recently. Now we can all say “Coming to LIVE from….”
There are a few ways to do live video. The one I utilize the most is Facebook LIVE. There are other options as well such as BeLive TV, Instagram Live, and Periscope
Live videos should last longer than a recorded video. The point of a live video is to connect with your audience in real time. You also want to engage with people so going on for longer periods of time will allow people time to get on, say hello, ask questions and engage with you. The longer you are on the more engagement you will get!
Live video is great for doing an interview, broadcasting from a live event in real time or for doing a Q and A!
For many Live video seems a lot more daunting because there is no way to “fix” your “mistakes” but I find Live video easier for that exact reason. If I mess up I have to find a way to just gloss over it and keep going.
