Hey Everyone!  It’s Christine George, President of Marketing at Leading Edge Real Estate with offices in Boston, Cambridge and all throughout Greater Boston.  Welcome to Episode 36 of Real Estate Marketing!

What:  It’s part 4 of building your business plan and today we’re talking about revenue generating activities.  Whether nurturing your sphere or working to bring in new business, it’s all about getting in front of the customer and doing it in a meaningful way.

Alright, what do I mean by that?  I’m talking about building meaningful client relationships, not just transactional ones.  When you have a chance to get in front of your customer, be it online or in person, you don’t want your interaction to feel sale-sy, you want to make sure your interactions are meaningful and authentic in a way that builds trust.

Here are 4 tried and true lead generating activities that when executed in a meaningful and authentic way will not only bring you business they might just make you feel a little warm and fuzzy inside:

  1.   Write personal notes:  Who writes personal notes anymore?  Not many!  Even the holiday cards we get in the mail are mass printed and addressed.  Make sure to write personal notes after each closed transaction, on each home-versary, at the holidays.  And if you really want to WOW your client, jot them a note when you’re thinking about them or see something that reminds you of them.
  2. Engage on social media – Actively engage your SOI.  Take note of milestones in their lives (babies, graduations, marriages, and job promotions) and take action by liking AND by commenting.

  3. Participate in community organizations – Many real estate professionals are involved in their local schools, libraries, churches, food pantries or other charitable organizations.  Lean into your passion and get involved.  It will bring you joy and an opportunity to build relationships with potential new clients.

  4. Host a special event and feature a business in your community – This is a personal favorite.  Hosting an event in your home or in a local business in your community is a great way to support other local business owners and bring people together.   Think about the clothing boutique or home décor store in your community.  You might also know a local designer or home organizer who’d come to your home and share decorating ideas and tricks for organizing your closets.

Alright, these are just a few of my favorite lead generating activities.  The most important thing is to get in front of people, build those meaningful relationships, show people you care and then the rest will take care of itself.

That’s it for me today.  As always, if you like our Real Estate Marketing vlog, we’d LOVE it if you’d like, comment and share it, check us out at leadingedgeagents.com or like us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or LinkedIn.  Thanks so much everyone, enjoy the rest of your day and we’ll see on the next episode of Real Estate Marketing.
