Real Estate Marketing Episode 26: 3 Reasons You Should Give Free Content

Hey Everyone!  It’s Christine George, President of Marketing at RE/MAX Leading Edge with offices throughout Greater Boston.  Welcome to Episode 26 of Real Estate Marketing!

One of the things I often suggest agents do to drive business is give away free content and a common response is, “Why would I give away my content?  No one will hire me if I give them the goods for free!”   So today I want to share with you 3 reasons why I believe you should give away free content. 

  1. It Gives You Exposure. Anytime you give content away, you are promoting yourself. It’s like giving away freshly baked chocolate chip cookies at your open house.  It’s an offering that simply opens the door and gives people an opportunity to engage with you online or in-person. 
  2. It Builds Your Tribe. Anytime you give away something of value, whether it’s a template, an idea, a checklist or a piece of advice, people start to pay attention. Before you know it, you’re building relationships and relationships lead to business. 
  3. Finally and possibly MOST importantly, You Need it to Compete! Let’s face it.  In today’s digital age, consumers expect to get everything for FREE.  Free social media, free music, free podcasts.  You name it.  FREE is the gateway to giving potential customers the information they need to decide whether or not to work with you.
