Hey Everyone!  It’s Christine George, President of Marketing at Leading Edge Real Estate with offices in Boston, Cambridge and all throughout Greater Boston.  Welcome to Episode 29 of Real Estate Marketing!

I like to say email marketing was digital marketing’s first-born child.  Remember back in the day how excited we’d get when we heard those words, “You’ve got mail”? Today we’ve gotten so bombarded with email marketing.  I for one, find myself purging promotional emails every morning and de-cluttering every few months by unsubscribing to even my favorite mailing lists.  The fact remains that email marketing is STILL the most effective way to reach and convert your clients.  The trick is to make it impactful enough to get people to pay attention AND to take action.  Today I’m going to share 3 tips to making email marketing work for you!

  1. Start with a compelling subject line. The subject is the first thing they see so you want to make sure they don’t pass it by.  Using emoji’sis one way to increase the open rate of your email.  Also, emails with a personalized subject lineincrease your open rate.  There are also free tools like headline analyzerto assist you in creating the “most likely to get opened” subject line.
  2. Make it personal.  Valuable information is important for clients to understand how smart you are but they also want to be able to relate to you.  Are you a music or sports fan?  Maybe you’re a tri-athlete like Debbie Chandlerand Amy Tillotsonor a car enthusiast like John Takvorian.  Whatever it might be, let people know what you’re passionate about. Tell them where they can find you in your community or inspire them with a lyric, your favorite quote or a piece of trivia that’s related to your passion.
  3. Have a call to action. This is the golden rule of all marketing, print, digital or otherwise.  What action do you want your reader to take?  Make sure you include it at the end of each email.

There you have it, 3 quick tips for making email marketing more effective.
