Hey Everyone! It’s Christine George, President of Marketing at Leading Edge Real Estate with offices in Boston, Cambridge and all throughout Greater Boston. Welcome to Episode 31 of Real Estate Marketing!
Did you know there are approximately 2 million licensed real estate agents in the U.S. today? Yes, you heard that right, 2 MILLION! That’s 2 million reasons why your name is so important in building your personal brand and standing out from the competition. Here are 2 MORE reasons why everyone should know your name.
- Your name is memorable. Being memorable is at the heart of any good brand. Remember those 2 million other agents? They’re out there using terms that are interchangeable with other agents. Terms like homes north of the city, waterfront homes, and luxury homes are all generic terms. Your name however, is your unique identifier. Think about the fashion industry, it’s rich with brands that have been built on their founder’s names. Names like Coco Chanel, Calvin Klein, and Kate Spade are among the most recognizable in their field. Probably the most recognized example in the real estate space is none other than Barbara Corcoran. Before she was a Shark, she built one of the most successful real estate brokerages in NY on a $1,000 loan.
- Real Estate is a relationship business. At Leading Edge, 85% of our business is repeat/referral which means clients doremember your name. As an agent, when you provide a great experience and then continue to bring value and nurture those relationships over time, it’s youwho will remain top of mind, not your geographic or niche brand. Your name is your most powerful asset. It is you, the agent, with whom the client has the experience.
When you’ve done your job right and you’ve worked hard, your name will outperform any generic term and will stand out among all the other 2 million agents out there.
