Marketing for Business

Real Estate Agents Show How Marketing for Business is Done

Over the last year, I’ve had the great joy of watching some amazing marketing happening within our company.  The agents of RE/MAX Leading Edge are really letting their authentic selves shine and if I had to guess, I’d say they’re having fun doing it.  From social media all the way to open houses, our agents are showing their creative side and finding new and different ways to build relationships and drive business.  Here are just a FEW of my personal favorites:

LaurieWilliamson 08 FINALLaurie Williamson, RE/MAX Leading Edge, Arlington- Laurie executes direct mail masterfully.  Three years ago, Laurie set out to win business in Arlington by farming neighborhoods with a printed monthly marketing piece.  Her pieces are creative, they reflect her personal brand, and while the general layout, look and feel don’t change, each one changes to reflect the season, keeping it fresh and unique.  The key with direct mail is consistency and Laurie has certainly stayed the course.   The result?  Laurie has successfully won multiple listings since she started in 2015.

Aurielle KallmertenJohn Farrell-ClancyAurielle Kallmerten and John Farrell-Clancy, RE/MAX Leading Edge, Boston- Aurielle and John knew that direct mail can work but wanted to find a way to insure their marketing didn’t just go from the mailbox to the recycle bin so they idea stormed to create a 12-month campaign that not only catches the eye but keeps the eye on their piece.  Their marketing is fun, simple, true to them, and focused on their point of difference.  Here’s an example of the front of their latest piece. I’ll challenge you not to fall in love.  In just 3 short months, Aurielle and John have already secured a million dollar listing in Boston as a direct result of their direct mail campaign.

Pixie 17 FINALMichaela “Pixie” Mahtani, RE/MAX Leading Edge, Belmont- Another natural on camera, Pixie recently started publishing MahtaniRE TV, a local show informing consumers about the local housing market.  She partners with local mortgage lenders and attorneys and talks turkey when it comes to buying and selling in this hot market.

BillButlerGroup 06 FINAL

Bill Butler, RE/MAX Leading Edge, Melrose- Each month Bill goes out into the Melrose market and does an expose he calls, The Melrose Scoop, on a local business or non-profit organization.  As a former actor and radio announcer, Bill has a natural ability in front of the camera and a talent for making the interview fun and interesting!  These videos put Bill and these local businesses on the map!  Bill often gets stopped on the street by people who think they know him because they’ve seen and heard him so often on the Melrose Scoop.

Durling R webRay Durling, RE/MAX Leading Edge, Reading- Each week, Ray combines his administrative time with a latte and an opportunity to connect with people in his community via Cafe Hour at Cafe Nero in his home town of Andover, Massachusetts.  I mean, who wouldn’t love to sit down and chat with Ray?  He’s sweet, smart and always ready to help.  Ray has used Cafe Hour to
build awareness as a REALTOR in his local market and he sees and speaks to at least half a dozen people each time he’s there.

Katherine Waters-ClarkKatherine Waters-Clark, RE/MAX Leading Edge, Winchester- KWC’s Shop Stories just hit the streets last month and already she’s hitting it out of the park.  Katherine has a natural ability to connect with people.  Her playful personality and genuine interest, makes people feel comfortable on camera and inside a real estate transaction.  Katherine’s Shop Stories takes you along the journey of a boutique shop owner and brings you inside the makings of making their shop dreams come true.

These are just a smidgen of the amazing things happening out there.  There is an enormous opportunity to lean in to your strengths and use them to generate business and better yet find joy in things that are fun and make you smile.  I’d love to know what amazing things you’re doing to differentiate yourself!  Drop me a comment below or better yet, shoot a video and post it here!  Til next time...
