Good Morning Everyone! Welcome to Mug Monday! I’m Emily Dugal, Digital Marketing Manager at RE/MAX Leading Edge! If you’ve seen Mug Monday welcome back and if it’s your first time I’m excited to share my myriad of mugs and tips with you! This week’s mug is my Lilly Pulitzer sea shell mug!
Today I’m talking about asking questions to create content. I’ve told all of you to sit down with a notebook and purposefully write down ideas for content. I’ve advised you to consider your audience and think about the things you talk to your clients about. However, that is not the only approach to attaining new content ideas. Why not reach out and ask the people who watch your videos what they want to hear you talk about.
The possibilities are endless on questions you can pose to your sphere of influence. Here are just a few ideas
- What real estate questions do you have that I can help answer for you?
- What is the most daunting to you about the idea of buying a home?
- What would you like to see me feature more on my page?
- What content has been the most fun for you to see on my page?
- What recommendations in the community are you looking for?
- What new restaurants should I be checking out?
Asking people real estate specific questions will help you get to the root of their burning inquires and asking about the community can help you offer up some great place
Now that you’ve got your question, how do you get it out there? There are a few ways to ask these, and any other questions you come up with, on different platforms. On Facebook and Instagram you can create an eye catching graphic. Employ video by going live on your Facebook page or record a quick video on your phone that you can upload to social media. If you are familiar with Facebook and Instagram story pose the question there. No matter where or how you are asking your question make sure you are encouraging people to respond to you and comment on your post/video, etc.
Asking questions makes sure you are giving the people what they want. It’s an easy way to curate valuable content and people will be more likely to reach out to you in the future with questions if they know you are open to answering them. Real estate can be intimidating and some worry that a question may come off as “stupid” to an expert but being that person who encourages question asking will help make you more approachable.
Lastly, it fosters engagement which on social media is very valuable. People who want to submit questions will usually do so by commenting on the post itself and that’s awesome engagement that will get you a higher reach on your post.
It might take some time before people begin responding and submitting questions but just like with anything on social media it takes consistency so keep at it!
