Mug Monday Episode 2: Blogging Content

Coming up with blogging content helps create value for you clients as well as helping them get to know you

Good Morning Everyone! Welcome to Mug Monday! I’m Emily Dugal, Digital Marketing Manager at RE/MAX Leading Edge! If you’ve seen Mug Monday welcome back and if it’s your first time I’m excited to share my myriad of mugs and tips with you! This week's mug is my F.R.I.E.N.D.S Mug! This Monday morning we're talking about blogging content. Some of you may wonder if blogging is still relevant. Let me tell you, it is! There’s a lot of noise out there! Blogging creates value for your audience. When thinking about blogging you want to look at your audience both on Facebook and off as well as your goals for your business! Are you targeting sellers or buyers? Do you specialize in helping people downsize? Do you love working with first time home buyers? Do you want to tap into millennials? Here are my tips on blogging.

You Know What To Write About

Talk about what you know about! When I talk to agents about creating their own blogging or vlogging content they physically cringe and say “I don’t even know what I would talk about!” but you do know what to talk about!

        • What questions do you get asked all the time?
        • What processes can you break down into simpler terms for people?
        • What can you share about the communities you service? Like your favorite restaurants or where the farmers markets are.

Sit down with a note book and jot down the questions you are getting asked the most. Think about what you love to talk about.

Get Organized

Use a content grid to organize your ideas! Katie Lance has a great template that you can download for free when you sign up for her mailing list! Just go to KatieLance.com. The content grid is broken into buckets which you can adjust to fit you and your message! It even comes with 30 great ideas to help you get started!

Be Consistent

Plan for consistency. Once you have your content grid laid out it’s time to plan out when you’re going to put your content. Once a week? Once a month? Once you’ve decided the frequency you need to make sure it’s consistent. If you decide to publish once a month then you need to decide when in the month your publishing. The first of every month? The 15th? Whatever you choose you have to stick to it!
