Mug Monday Episode 7: Check Yourself and Your Details!

Good Morning Everyone! Welcome to Mug Monday! I’m Emily Dugal, Digital Marketing Manager at RE/MAX Leading Edge! If you’ve seen Mug Monday welcome back and if it’s your first time I’m excited to share my myriad of mugs and tips with you! This weeks mug is my fall mug.

This week I’m telling you all to check yourself… and your details! You want to make sure you have consistency across platforms. Whether it’s your website, your Facebook business page or your LinkedIn make sure the details are in order.

Headshot

Is your headshot up to date? If it’s a few years old, it’s time to geta new one! When you’ve gotten an updated headshot make sure it’s updated everywhere! Your Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook, your website, your companies website. You don’t want people finding your updated headshot in once place and your 3 year old one somewhere else.

Biography for consistency across platforms

If you don’t have a biography you should! I always recommend it be written in the third person so that it comes across as you being presented to your audience.

  • What makes you great at your job
  • Why you love it and
  • What awards and recognitions you’ve received.

Also include something about you as a person. You don’t have to get too personal a simple “Emily enjoys traveling and spending time visiting family in NH.” Will help humanize you to your reader.

Another tip is don’t reference time in number of years years. If you say you’ve been in business for 17 years that will outdated in a year. Say you’ve been in business since 2000.

Contact Information and Links

This might seem like a no brainer but are you sure that you didn’t put the office number in your profile when you started your Facebook page two years ago?

Do all the links to your social media that are on your website and in your email signature still work?

It’s worth the time to triple check these things if you haven’t in awhile better you find a mistake before someone else does!

These little things easily fall down on the To-Do list but it’s worth taking the time so that you look sharp and on top of it

If you’re not using a social media platform so you don’t think it matters if the info is up to date then you need to delete that platform. As long as your name is associated with it people can find you on it.
