Tip Tuesday from Eileen Hamblin

Now that our amazing Bootcamp is over and we're all trying to implement what we experienced, we also have to take care of the back of the house of our individual businesses.

Importance of CEU Credits for Real Estate Agents

Today's reminder:  Be sure to get all your Continuing Education credits well before your birthday so you can sign the affidavit on your license renewal application.  Apply for your license well in advance of your birthday because it takes forever for the new license to be mailed to you.  Doing the application online was easy and the renewal was immediate.  It's the printing and the mailing of the hard copy that is slow.

Who To Send Your Real Estate License To

Be sure to take a screen shot of the licensing web page that shows you have an updated license so you can send it to MLS.

Your office also needs a copy of your updated license.

Why Keeping Up To Date with Real Estate CEU's is Important

Should you ever be audited by the Board of Registration or should you be contacted on an issue, the first thing they will ask for will be copies of your CEU's.  Since paper files can get misplaced, I'm sure many of you have already copied your credit certificates to a digital file.  The rest of us will be doing that today.

Are You Required to Carry your Real Estate License with You?

Also, you are required to carry your real estate license on you when you are practicing real estate.  Maybe someday a digital copy on your mobile device will suffice.  Let's push for that.

Real Estate Sales Person versus Broker

One last thing about licensing, if you are a licensed Salesperson, do not use the term Broker.  If a form you have to sign says "Broker,"  cross out Broker and write in Salesperson.  Sometimes "Broker" means the Brokerage and then you will need an owner's signature.

Looks like the spring market has already started so let's get out there and get our share of the listings.  Or, let's be like the Patriots and win more than our share!
