Now that it's 2017 you may be looking at a list of New Year's Resolutions, affirmations or goals. Hopefully, you're attending Linda O's Boot Camp and working on getting your business and life organized. With the fresh start of a New Year it's a great time to make sure your social media is on point!
Headshot
Your headshot is a very important part of your brand. In the digital world your headshot is your first impression. As Katie Lance says social media is a place where you can get people to like, know and trust you and your headshot is a big part of that. People want to put a face to the name. If your headshot is more than two years old it's time to start looking into freshening it up. Sue Bruce Photography is a RE/MAX Leading Edge preferred vendor and we highly recommend her! And as always when you get your new headshot make sure you send it to your office's marketing coordinator and update it across all your social media and websites.
Contact Information
Go over your profiles and make sure all your contact information is up-to-date and correct. Test all your social media and website links to ensure they are all leading to the right places. Now, if you're thinking to yourself "Well I did that a few months ago and my phone number hasn't changed so I think I can skip this," go back and do it anyway. It's never good to find out from a client that the link to your Facebook page in your email signature isn't working...
Cover Photo
I always recommend keeping your Facebook cover photo fresh and relevant. You could use a picture of one of your listings that has an open house coming up or a new listing. Perhaps just a stock photo of a home in the snow in the winter or a home with a landscaped yard in the spring. Consider acknowleging holidays such as Thanksgiving, Patriots Day, Memorial Day or Independence Day. Your headshot should be consistent but your cover photo is a great place to show some color and personality.
Content Grid
I know some of you are just dipping your toes into social media so you're doing what you can here and there so you don't get overwhelmed but I implore you to at least put down in writing a bit of a plan. If it's early on in your social media experience, keep it simple. Mark your calendar that at the beginning of the month you will share the RE/MAX Leading Edge Housing Report. Or once a week find a Real Estate article you think your clients would find interesting and post it to your wall. For those who are more "fluent" (and as you get more "fluent") start and create your own content. Whether it be a blog or video or Facebook live starting to create your own content is a fantastic way to connect with new and old clients. You have a plethora of valuable information! Share it!
Taking the time to audit yourself is an important piece in getting yourself ready for success! You should take the time to audit yourself every few weeks so that your first digital impression is spot on everytime!
If you need help auditing yourself or are still catching up with the audits our social media coordinators did for you feel free to reach out to me or them for help!
